Chris grew up in Chapel Hill North Carolina where he developed a love for the tar heels and a passion for sports and exercise. He participated in all sports but focused on basketball and lacrosse. He received his BS in Exercise and Sports Science from Elon University in which he utilized his degree working as a sports performance specialist working with high school, college, and professional athletes. During his work as sports performance specialist he developed a passion for helping others achieve their health goals, and he wanted to peruse further education in order to help people improve their health following injury.

Chris received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Saint Augustine in Florida. He has worked in a multitude of settings with an emphasis on orthopedic and sports therapy. Chris's passion for helping others is felt in his lifelong pursuit of continuing education in order to provide the best treatment possible to his patients. He has received his manual therapy certification (MTC), functional dry needling certification (FDN),  and cupping certification. As the owner and head physical therapist at PhysioFit Physical Therapy and Sports Performance he prides himself on staying up to date on current research in order to provide his patients with the most cutting edge and evidenced-led treatments.

Outside of work Chris enjoys being a husband and father. He cherishes his opportunity to walk alongside his wife Tiffany both at work and at home. His job as a father is best observed playing sports with his kids and baiting a fishing line!

Tiffany is a beautiful woman in-side and out! She received her BS in Psychology from University of South Carolina where she learned the real USC is in California. She pursued higher education when she received her MOM degree for her 3 children! She is looking forward to working alongside Chris to keep his Diet Dr. Pepper purchase to a minimum while receiving consistent massages. Outside of work she is a highly decorated slalom skier and she enjoys golf cart rides in the nearby park.

Chris worked as a sports performance specialist where he worked with high school, college, and professional athletes. It was during this time that he refined his passion for helping others achieve their health goals, and decided to pursue advanced education.

Outside of work Chris enjoys being a husband to Tiffany (PhysioFit's office manager) and a father to 3 boys and one dog. On the weekends you will catch him at all kinds of practices and games for his boys, wake surfing on his boat in the summer, baiting a fishing line, or watching sports on tv.

Hayley is a North Carolina native from Welcome, North Carolina and has always had a passion for sports, fitness, and exercise.  This led her to obtaining a Bachelor’s in Science in Exercise Science from UNC Charlotte and then pursuing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Wingate University.  She has a passion for helping people of all ages achieve their goals and enhance their quality of life, which led her to her career in physical therapy. She has several years of experience working with a variety of patient populations ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics and has a strong interest in helping patients recover from post-surgical procedures and injuries.   Outside of physical therapy, Hayley enjoys spending her free time with her daughter, husband, family and friends as well as attending group fitness classes.

Hayley Phillips, DPT, FDN 

Physical Therapist

Michael is a dedicated and compassionate physical therapist with 5 years of experience helping patients achieve their optimal health and mobility. His approach to physical therapy is rooted in evidence-based practices, personalized treatment plans, and a deep commitment to patient education and empowerment. He received his bachelors in applied science from University of Wisconsin-Stout and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from High Point University. He is also certified in Dry Needling. His specializations include Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Sports Injury Management, Post-Surgical Recovery, Vestibular and Concussion Rehabilitation, and Geriatric Physical Therapy.​
 

Professional Philosophy: My goal is to provide holistic care that not only addresses the symptoms but also identifies and treats the underlying causes of discomfort and immobility. I believe in creating a collaborative and supportive environment where patients feel heard and involved in their treatment process.

Experience: Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of patients, from professional athletes to senior citizens, helping them regain strength, mobility, confidence, and allowing them to return to their passions/hobbies. I am passionate about staying current with the latest advancements in physical therapy to provide the best possible care.

Personal Interests: Outside of the clinic, My wife and I enjoy staying active through hiking, walking our dog, working out, and playing sports including pickleball, golf, and basketball, as well as playing board games and watching movies. We recently had our first child, the sweetest little baby girl who is currently keeping our hands full. As a past athlete, I still love to watch, listen, discuss, and consume all things sports, so bring your hot takes, and I'm currently on the hunt for the best pizza and burgers in the area and welcome all suggestions.

Marni has always had a passion for fitness and education.  She grew up in Evansville, Indiana and received her bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University in Health and Physical Education while playing Volleyball on scholarship in their D1 program. She also has her Masters Degree in Education.

 

Marni has been an assistant volleyball coach, a high school health/PE teacher, and a School Health/Youth Marketing Director at The American Heart Association. Since moving to North Carolina, Marni has worked at the Lake Norman YMCA since 2014.  During her time there she has taught a variety of Group Exercise classes, worked as a Fitness Specialist and as a Personal Trainer.  

Marni believes health and fitness are the most important aspects of a person’s life and is committed to helping others achieve their health goals.  Outside of work Marni enjoys spending time with her family (daughters Ayla and Mina, husband Dan and Mini Goldendoodle Izzy), wake surfing, hiking and snow skiing!!

Tiffany grew up in Dayton, Ohio, where she developed a love for all sports, especially basketball and football. She graduated from the University of South Carolina (Go Cocks!!) with a degree in psychology and a minor in social work. She spent many years doing social work and now cherishes the opportunity to focus on PhysioFit and her 3 boys, 4 if you include Chris! 

 

Tiffany is the co-owner of PhysioFit with her husband Chris. You will catch her on the phone with insurance companies or distracting all of the patients by talking too much. She is our billing extraordinaire so if you have billing questions, call and ask for Tiffany! 

 

Tiffany loves to work out at Burn Bootcamp and spend time with her boys, shuttling them to their many sports practices and games!  In the summer, she prefers to be on the boat or at the pool near water. You will see her bubbly personality and smile often during your time at PhysioFit.
